Our private rides last between 1 to 1 1/2 hours depending on snow conditions and temperatures at that time.
We try to keep the weight per sled to not much more than 200 pounds for the sake of the dogs. We do however take larger pasengers.
We will start out at the snow park with a gentle uphill portion and then we go down a short hill and over a bridge and then up again.
From there we will take a gee (right turn) into the forest onto a flat trail for about 1/2 mile.
Then we go up a few small hills and take another gee and go to a gentle up and down part of the trail for about 1 1/2 miles. Then the fun part, we go DOWN! At the bottom of the hill we will take another fast gee and back to gentle up and downs.
Then two quick haws (left turns) and back to the main trail where we will go down for about 1 mile, over the bridge, up the hill and back to the starting point for hot chocolate or coffee.
I then take the dogs off the gangline, water and treat them.
The whole experience lasts between 2 to 3 hours from unloading dogs, harnessing, hooking them up to the gangline, loading passengers into the sled bag, giving the ride, then the watering and treating the dogs.
Be sure to dress warm. Boots, hats, gloves and sunglasses because when we take off the dogs sometimes throw snow back at the passengers.
Also, be sure and bring your cameras.
